My fresher's party...

A video made by me as part of my 1st chroma assignment

Cupcakes

Cupcakes have always been my favorite as one can get them in different flavors. Since i was a child my grandmother and aunty used to make this for me. sometimes in chocolate flavor or royal icing flavor. they were my delights as i would even carry them in my tiffin  to school and would never want to share them. They had crispy waffer like base and nice soft spongy like thing at the top. Today though one doesnt find it much but still it still has a remberence because of its taste.

Youth Festival 2012

Our college NIMCJ took part in the youth festival for the very first time in five years since its establishment. The students of the college participated in various events such as rally, group and solo song, skit, mime, elocution, debate, painting, quiz etc. Though our college won only in two event that is Rally and Quiz (where we went into the nationals), we still enjoyed the event as it was a complete group effort that we had put in.

Was the wedding planner for my cousin's wedding. Some of the things that were included in her wedding. Have done two more weddings and two anniversaries..
Our Lady of Valankani-Uttan

For the catholic community of India, Our Lady of Valankani is very important. Devotees of Mother Mary travel thousands of kilometer from all across India to reach a small town in Tamil Nadu called Valankani. It is said that if you go with a sincere heart, your wish will be fulfilled.

But now the catholic church has made it easier for the devotees. They have brought a mini shrine of Our Lady of Valankani to Uttan a small town in Mumbai.

Master Chef-"Kitchen ke superstars"

It was like a dream come true for us on the 6th of April 2013, when the food department head of master chef asked our college to send 4 students as interns for 3 days as the team was going to shoot in Ahmedabad.
We learnt a lot with the food team. The seniors were very co-orparative in teaching us about how the big grand show on star plus works. The show which had come to Ahmedabad had almost 50+ crew members working on it. The shooting took place at the famous places of Ahmedabad like, Vishala restaurant, Amul Mother Dairy and Modhera sun temple. Overall it was a wonderful experience for us.

Kingfisher Airlines: The King Of Good Time in Crisis.

Kingfisher Airlines one of the most preferred low cost carrier is facing crisis in the recent days. It is said that Kinfisher Airlines owned by entrepreneur Vijay Mallaya had taken a lot of loans from various sources and could not repay it due to which it is going through a situation of serious crisis. The Airlines is affected and a lot of employees left unemployed, but above all a number of customers affected to flight cancellation and flight delays.
Kingfisher once a premium airline company is now struggling to regain its position among the various low cost carriers.  Kingfisher Airlines also faces a serious competition in the market owing to Indigo Airline being named as the best low cost carrier for the year 2012 – 13. Apart from this the problem also is that Vijay Mallaya’s Airlines had a poor administration which led to its crisis majorly. Lavish spending on employees, non duly payment of loans are among the major reasons for the Airline crisis.
Currently DGCA (Directorate General Of Civil Aviation) has cancelled the license of Kingfisher Airlines. And Mr. Mallaya is having talks with various banks to support him and has put in a request for a new license. The Civil Aviation Ministry has asked Vijay Mallay to replay all his loans in order to bring the Airline in action.  Currently Mr. Vijay Mallaya  is consulting many companies to assist him to make the company fly again and fly high above all.

Bakery Price Hike

Have you noticed of late that every week the price of bakery products keeps increasing by a rupee or two? This is happening due to the petrol and diesel price hike and change, and will keep continuing till don’t know when. The pockets of the common man are slowly tearing because of these price hike’s.
According to a survey conducted by the students of National Institute of Mass Communication and Journalism, it came across that due to the fuel prices being hiked up the bakery products have also been increasing. A small bread packet which used to cost Rs 10 few months back has now increased to Rs 20. Even a black forest cake which used to cost Rs 150 for 500 grams till last year is now gone up to Rs 250-300 for just 500 grams.
The owner of a famous bakery in Ahmedabad told us, “We have to increase the prices because to bring the raw materials to make the product our workers have to go bye vehicle and the price of fuel is also become very steep.” He further added that the cost of the ingredients have also risen making it compulsory for them to increase their product prices.
Few customers who were present in the shop to buy some goods were also interviewed. According to them, the price rise in the fuel has made their pockets all the heavier in this competitive world. Both husbands and wives have to work extra so that they can give their family the best of everything. Kalpana (name changed) a home-maker said, ”Be it birthdays or parties, our children want cake and pizza’s or sandwiches or any other such items. And they cannot refrain from buying it for them. Even on Sunday’s for breakfast we eat bread with jam/butter/cheese, so we have to buy it.”

Why the logo and tag line of NIMCJ

When we asked the director of NIMCJ, Dr. Shirish Kashikar about why they chose this name to represent the college and its logo as well as its tagline, he replied, “This is not a logo, but a letter design to brand NIMCJ. But now a day’s people are using it as a logo. NIMCJ had hired an agency to design this logo way back in 2007. After scanning 10-15 letter designing idea’s they zeroed on the current one”. “It was a collective decision by the trusties and the director”.

‘J’ in NIMCJ pattern symbolizes a pen which is an identity of a journalist.
After the design was finalized the designing team requested the trusties to give this design a tag line. For which the trusties came up with the tag line “Freedom of expression”, which reflects Article 19 (1) a and also is the base of journalism. This design has become the logo of NIMCJ and is also used for its branding. On further questioning we were told by the director that this design/logo has been sent for registration and copyright.

For the 1st time in my entire life i was asked to represent my group's work to a large audience during my college-NIMCJ's IV Media Convergence Meet held on Saturday the 27th of April 2013 at Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA). It was about a few ad's that we had made which had a social message "Save Water". We had made five ad's out of which 1 was liked the best as it reminded the audience of their child hood days.
All the people in the audience had a smile on their face after watching this one ad and congratulated us on the creative thought that we put in to make this ad a success.
